What are the prerequisites for PMI-ACP^® certification exam?

There are four prerequisites for applying for PMI-ACP certification:
a) Secondary degree
b) 21 contact hours of training in agile practices
c) 12 months of general project experience within the last 5 years*
d) 8 months of agile project experience within the last 3 years

*A current PMP® or PgMP^® will satisfy this requirement but is not required to apply for the PMI-ACP.

What are the domains of the PMI-ACP^® certification exam?

The PMI-ACP^® exam consists of seven domains. There will be 100 scorable and 20 unscorable questions to be answers in 3 hours. The domains and percentage distribution of questions are as follows:

Where do I apply for the PMI-ACP^® Certification Exam and how long it takes to get approval?

Go to https://www.pmi.org/certifications/agile-acp and on right hand side of the page you will find ‘Apply for PMI-ACP Certification’

You need to Login or Create Your Account. With your Login details, you get access to the application form.

After you fill in and submit the application form, it will take 5 calendar days s for PMI^® to process. Please note exam is fee payable only after submission and approval of your application by PMI^®.

Once, PMI^® has approved your application, you get a mail with information on validity period for taking the exam and a link for paying PMP^® Certification Exam Fee by credit card.

Where do take the PMI-ACP^® Certification Exam? Is it available online?

Once you are eligible, PMI will e-mail you examination scheduling instructions with your eligibility code, which you will need when scheduling your exam.

You have two options:

1) Take the PMI-ACP^® Certification Exam Online (24x7) – Administered on a secure platform and there’s a live proctor. You should have a reliable internet connection.
2) Take the PMP^® Certification Exam at Centre - PMI exams are offered at approved Pearson VUE Testing Centres worldwide. You can check for locations on Pearson VUE’s website
